Leverage New Word Phrases

The above tactics are applicable to events as a lot of events gain big offline media exposure throughout the time the event’s hype curve peaks, implanting a whole raft of word combinations into the community that are specific to the event. If you plan ahead you can have pages sitting in all top 10 search engine results for phrases that nobody is searching for today but will in three months from now. The cost of getting this position when there is no competition is much better than fighting for it when everyone wants to rank in it. There is a lot of money in working one step ahead of the cutting edge.

You can strategically plan your event launch cycle into a set of events distributed throughout the year. During the planning stages, it would be wise to do an in-depth research on what mainstream media would most likely be focusing throughout the year ahead. In this way you will be able to anticipate terms that are likely to be part of conversations in the future that aren’t spoken yet. Naming events and branding them off these phrases will help build a web presence with pages optimized to rank for these words…

Yet another Great Technique, although it is quite a task to figure all this out a year ahead of time, but those who do this will reap the REWARDS! As someone has told me before(Simon U Ford) "if it was easy everyone would be doing it" It is those who hang in there and take the time to learn, This is why it is important to invest your time in learning your Social marketing from someone who has a proven Track Record.

Everything takes planning to create a positive event, using key phrases to get the momentum going, not just starting but it is like getting ahead of the game. This does take some research which you have shown us some great tools to use. Look out marketing...here we come
  • Loved Chickefitz'a comment on the law of reciprocity and Simon Fords course on Social Media Marketting brings that home to us too - if we supprt each other online, information will naturally be shared and credibility diseminated. Thisi s the law of Web 2.0.
  • Yes John Rivera is right - Simon plans ahead and walks the talk. His success can be contagious if we follow the steps so generously handed out in his book on social traffic. Its exciting to be attached to success - it makes our own bid at it that much easier as success always breeds success.
  • Keep in mind that planning ahead with key word phrases means saving money - if we do it as Simon suggests, months ahead when no one is actually trying to bid on those phrases, we can practically get them for free - bonus when it comes to searching on these desired phrases down the line just before an event hits. Cool advice from Simon Ford yet again.
  • Words like leveraging or guerilla tactics have got such negative conatations but Simon's book on Social traffic changes all that- they are essential and clean strategies for getting ahead in the world wide web of sales. Makign it happen means exactly what Simon suggests: leverage yourself with key word searchs, jump on the back of other successful videos - we have to use cleve tactics like these to stay ahead.Tx Simon.
  • My initial reason for reading this book was interest...now I am a convert. If we don't use WEb 2.0 to lauch ourselves and our products in this day and age we may as well be living in 10BC. Simon brings home to us how the world has changed but instead of scaring us off he makes us feel welcome and excited to jump on the ship of social media marketting strategies.
  • Choosing the right word combinations ahead of time means doing it months before teh launch of any campaign. Research this and spend the time you need in this critical phase. More valueable infor from the book on Social Traffic by Simon Ford. Its all just consilidating in my mind ...wish I had the clarity years ago!

Another excellent strategy. I would also recommend implementing the use of key words with videos, specifically on You Tube. You can start branding yourself in the "word tag" section. That way you can be the number one result when people search for these terms.
  • What a brilliant idea to lauch ahead of time using phrases that are not yet being spoken - in this way we get to catch all the phrases and UP GO the RANKINGS! Clever Simon - real clever. The book you wrote on social traffic is full of these tips - I think we should catalouge them in point form and just sell the ideas:) in sharp bits of info for all the tekkies out there who already know the workings but need the strategies from Simon
  • I think we also often forget that linking up iwht main stream media is still important. simon's book reminds us of these things we so tend to let go of when dealing with online strategies. His book is full of basic and more sophisticated clues to the success we can have in marketting with social media.
  • I think this notion of sitting on catch phrases three months ahead of time is genius Simon. I find the book full of this wisdom and very helpful wiht real life strategic marketting. Not pie in the sky stuff like so many guys out there are. One thing to add is that if one combines this planning with the right tags and catch phrases ...the strategy is all teh more effective
  • In his online course Simon really DEMONSTRATEs how HE has made a success of social media marketting by staying ahead of the pack in all areas. He doesn't just use ezine and Squidoo but finds out what people are up to before they know they are going to be up to it :) His book explains clearly how to do this strategically and well. thanks Simon for the open sharing of information and successful tactics you utilize.
  • More VALUE laden information from Simon Ford. I particularly agree with Bobbicknell here too - planning ahead is key - every time you plan and then RESTRUCTURE (given the advantage of feedback in places like twitter) you can really harness te best word combinations and get fabulous ranking. Ezine articles and Sqidoo are good ways of pointing people in the right direction. Simon brings this point home most lucidly
  • keeping engaged, looking for obvious word combination and then acting on them before the time will ensure a significant ranking in relation to those word. Rather than general, its a good idea to be more specific and start publishing Squidoo and ezine articles using these words ahead of time.

Take the time to search Youtube for the words "google friend connect" and see what eventslisted did against all the Google developers by acting ahead of time..

    Great Article by Simon Ford
  • Bob's comments are right on. Planting seeds is what building relationship is all about. You sow into someone elses' life and then thanks to God's natural laws of reciprocity, that planting comes back to you. If you try to rush that process, it violates those natural laws of sowing and harvest. The relationship ladder, as described on http://wordofmouthmedia.blogspot.com should have a time dimension! Can't jump from the SPAM rung to REPUTATION overnight. It takes hard work and solid strategy.

Simon U Ford's book Social Traffic lays a good foundation for understanding how the pieces and parts work together on this.

Another great article by simon ford. Getting ahead of the game to make sure we stay ahead of our market can work with a good planning and keyword research. It's all a bit of gorilla marketing. With this much planning ahead, our lives would be a lot easier to work on more important details in our business.
  • This is what I love about you Simon, you're always planning well ahead.

I've seen this strategy work first hand when we took on Google. For all the readers out there that don't know about it (you must have been hiding under a rock for the past few months) go to your Google search and type in "Google Friend Connect."

As of today, I see your video ranked number four. This didn't happen by accident, you planned it and the Social Traffic team helped you execute it.

Very valuable tip about planning ahead. I see this in our current campaign where I wish I had another month of planting seeds for the crop. The beauty of relaunching is more seeds are planted. This article has key point on "Word Combinations" being done months ahead of competition to reap rewards at time of event.

Using Events Listed, Squidoo and ezine articles is great point to help us with our articles, keywords and search results!
