Stay On The Watch With Google News Alerts

Behind the tens and thousands of blog subscriptions and email sign-ups - we tend to forget how immensely useful services like Google Alert can be. Its almost like a robot doing your routine Google searches for you.

I would recommend Google Alerts to all of you. Go in and put a watch on events that are taking place, the latest event marketing trends and also on your competitors businesses. Google aggregates the news (blogs, sites, news sites, etc) and emails them to you. Anything that can influence your plans, event, contingencies, budgets, clients, vendors should be kept a careful watch on.

Its a must-have for researching and event planning phases…

  • Love it!
  • I love google alerts, delivered straight to my reader. Sort & select and get great blogs, news, stay on top of everything, truly tremendous. Great for some automation too.
  • Yes, Google Alerts is a very powerful tool. It is a great help in staying up with what happens in your field. Especially, with the enormous amount of content that is out there, it is very helpful to have a tool that will tell you when something relevant is becoming available.
I use it all the time also. I use a long term keyword for specific targeted searches, but I also use more top level keywords, to get a good feel for what is going on in my field.
  • Google Alerts is an excellent tool, and I've used it for some time. I set alerts to research article topics, find the latest news on my niche, watch my brand (including my name) across the web, and keep track of specific articles.

I've used the information to update my blogs and discover new sites using my material. A Google alert on my name showed different blogs that referenced me. I started networking with these writers -- and they're people who already like my brand and are in my niche or something complementary -- and all because an alert.

Smart way to stay on top.
  • This is yet another EXCELLENT tool by the boys at Google. I use it all the time for:

    1. Keeping an eye on my brand.
    2. Watching keywords related to my business.
    3. Researching projects (the easy way.)
