How Is This Relevant To You?

Well, for starters, when you are planning an event, a keyword strategy should be carefully planned out for the year ahead to be able to direct traffic to it. This key word research should become the foundation of your whole online campaign. It can focus on entertainers, geographic locations, promoters and so on. You don’t need your own website to promote your events. You can still leverage off social media tactics even if you don’t have a purpose built website of your own. You can employ the same strategy to article marketing sites, Facebook pages and Events Listed pages. With Web 2.0, unless you have a big budget to employ SEO experts, a team of full time content developers and linkers in conjunction to a sharp web design team; you are actually better off building a web presence on 3rd party web 2.0 sites

Very powerful technique Simon is sharing by utilizing other third party Web2.0 sites! Most folks don't have big budgets so this technique is an ideal way for someone to gain exposure if they follows Simon step by step.

The keyword research with the point of planning ahead for the year but getting articles out there months ahead can truly benefit all of us with little budget. To leverage off the social media techniques taught here and implement whether utilizing Fb,EventsListed, Article marketing sites is awesome. Great to see Neil has done this as it validates even more the opportunity to get to the top of search engines. Thanks Simon!
  • This is a great piece of information for people stating up or for those who do not have a huge marketing advertising budget...especially since the advertising world seems to have come to an impasse at the moment.
For me it is good to know now that perhaps when starting i do not need to have that fancy website but rather invest more of my resources and time into the words and GREAT content along with an annual strategy.
It is incredible how much info is covered in Social Traffic. So much to absorb and implement.I am so lucky to have found Simon and this group.
  • Yes Rebecca, I have been thinking the same thing. We took in so much in the early weeks of the Social Traffic course, particularly those of us in Wave 3 that were total newbies and now I am going to go back and watch the early lessons again, as I am quite certain that I can go even deeper, even with the same information, now that I have amassed so much practical experience from the ST course.
  • Yes I agree with David Loughman here - Simon's book on ST tells us that there are many routes to success but over and over it becomes apparent that we need to work out what works for OUR target market. Leverage the system to its fullest while maintaining credibility with the online user. Simons book on ST is very effective in teaching us the former - its up to us to maintain the latter and Simon supports this notion fully
  • It is an effective method. Although I am a developer and creating websites comes easy to me, I would never ignore the potential of leveraging a 3rd party website presence even as a complementary to your own website.

Really interesting point about not having own web site and using third party Web 2.0 sites like Events Listed to send traffic too. Makes a lot of sense for those who don't have large budgets or the time. Your tips in your book "Social Traffic" and your video course really share the social media tactics to utilize keyword research and drive them to other pages that get them in sales funnel without your own web site being built! Thanks Simon!

who would have thought that the social media tools could be more than just a social event but also be used for business. this is great suggestion on the use of keywords not just for web pages but in all media tools. With advertising costs up, and getting the word out is much easier if the homework is done well with key words.
  • Steve B. was thinking in an expansive way to bring Simon and Steven Covey on the same page in his DIGG on this article! Understanding how keywords are used and brokered over the Internet is a constant game and I'm glad that Simon is paying such close attention to what is going on, AND sharing it with us.

The interesting thing about keyword is that, like many things, LESS is MORE. And capitalization and spacing matter! See what Simon has to say about that in the book Social Traffic.
  • Choosing your keywords carefully is critical to a good campaign. It is great to see you write in your article that this is the case whether you choose to go the SEO route or the web 2.0 route. It is so true that all you have online is (key)words. So, regardless of the traffic strategy you need to make sure that you choose your keywords wisely.
I used to associate keyword research with SEO, since that is where keywords were first applied. The truth of the matter is that keywords are linked to your web presence. Another paradigm shift for me!
  • This is great advice Simon for anyone battling with SEO and fighting the big guns with a limited budget and a small business website. I can speak from experience here having implemented only a couple of techniques taught in the ST course and within two weeks of targeting specific keywords in my niche through article marketing and other Web 2.0 tools I was on the first page of Google, not only that but out of the 10 first page results I occupied 6 positions including the first two spots. If that's not evidence that social media marketing is powerful if understood and utilised I don't know what is...

By using Word tracker and such the options become more apparent so the fact you have opened up the ability to "leverage off social media tactics' for our keyword strategies is great. I like how ST offers us 'other' options to the norm. Seems there are many more ways to 'skin the cat when we delve in deeper with ST. thanks
  • The notion of leveraging social media tactics rather than delineating the keywords for a year's worth of upcoming event promotions is fascinating. This is something that I hadn't considered in the past and a strategy I will employ now!
