As I start to write this response, I notice that I am -- at this moment -- incredibly physically hungry. This makes sense since I have not taken the time to eat well today. I have been far too focused on getting ducks in a row. I will -- after this writing -- stop for what will be a VERY well-deserved feast.

Well... check THAT out! Without realizing it until the words took form right in front of me on the screen, I see my first paragraph as an almost perfect analogy for the kernel of your post here, Simon! Wowzers... the way the mind works; the way things come together SO stellarly, sometimes, is amazing.

The one thing I WAS consciously thinking about when I sat about this response was something Steve had said; something he took off from what you said, Simon, about financial success and the frequency of planning tie-in. THAT struck me as too crucial to be minimized or UNemphasized.

I've never been a solid financial planner and this, of course, goes a LONG, LONG way toward explaining how it is that I have put myself in my current financial spot. I see how I did it, but more importantly I see how this type of behavior is past on generation after generation. If there's no financial discussion around the dinner table -- as a simple matter of course -- children will not GET it. They won't grow into adulthood mindful of it. They will find themselves made fodder for the wolves out there and before they know the REAL DEAL, VALUE and USE of money, they're already up to their eyeballs in crocodiles!

Given these truths in my life, I wonder how much value my legacy will be given, understood, utilized vs. simply consumed. This wondering will NOT stop me from the amassing, from the building, from the doing or the giving. But I do wonder. And in that state of wondering, I also see the importance of documenting ones story. At least let there be a history from the source, of how it all came about! Let there be no guessing. Let it be known that the Legacy came about through deliberate planning and conscious sacrifice.

Steve, when you posted that we should drill down and focus in on our the anticipated feelings we would experience once our goals are met, I thought THAT was one brilliant piece of advise. 'Cause even with belief in a cause, the what's in it for me will get you EVERY time, if you aren't clear. So, here's mine:

With $100,000:
I move to a place that has space enough for the thoughts I think; that will add to those thoughts by the views from my windows; the sounds coming to my ears; the people who are my physical neighbors; I obtain the most tricked out, capable multi-media system: computer, monitors, cameras, appropriate software, etc.; I buy a ticket to the one place on earth that inspires me to keep moving forward today; I pay off my debts; and put $25K in the no-spend place.

When I can do those things, how will I feel? In addition to feeling absolutely MARVELOUS, I'll also feel gratified, well-placed in my life, knowing that I DID it. I WALKED my TALK, and the result is out there for anyone who cares to look to see. I will feel pleased with myself and my choices. I will feel GREAT!

Thank you Simon. Thank you Steve. Thank you STi VIP & HPT!

Peace and Love,
DeeJay

I'm nearly speechless.... just imagine THAT!
I've read this a couple times and I finally feel in my heart that I'm starting to really "get it". I'm starting to truly feel and live the ways that Simon has been promulgating all along. I was half-hearted at first when I didn't "grok" it fully... but now it's part of my way of being.
My new mantra: Quality of Quantity!

VERY interesting comments indeed. Sooner or later we have to be prepared to "pay to play" - the coach deserves to be able to feed his family from his fine efforts.
@ Michele your well choosen words are just spot on.
@Steve and others - you folk can definitely see the sun rising burning very bright on the horizon. I do hope for Simons sake that when the sun is directly overhead we are all in basking in the heat. Appreciate that you can take us all to the water but we are the ones who have to drink it. The quality and dynamics of the group are VERY infectious...bring it on...!

There are a few points I want to make in this Regard.

1. For any project to succeed there needs to be a dedicated, knowledgeable and focussed leader who has "earned" his following. (Tick)

2. For the project to have an above average chance of succeeding it needs to be "within the flow of a current trend". Some call this being in Click!. (Tick)

3. We know from research done from children to adults that emotional intelligence (EQ) more than IQ is the greatest determinant of leadership and Business success. With this come the concept of Quick Fix v Delayed Gratification. With Delayed Gratification being an attribute that those with a higher EQ would have. Delayed gratification is about working towards a bigger goal.

4. To have belief in the bigger goal we need the "motivation" which for some will be the Money. But what we know, is that it always goes one step further. In fact it is never the money itself. It is those emotions that we can imagine experiencing once we are in possession of the Big Money. (or for those doing this for non-profit reasons, the emotions that their success would generate.

5. My challenge that I put to all colleagues today is.... See if you can identify and picture the 3 top emotions you would feel if in 3 months time, selling the ST course, had delivered $100 000 into your bank account.

Here is mine as an example.

With $100 000 I would change my car, go out with my wife and buy some art for the house, and deposit 40% into one of the mortgage accounts.

So here's the important part. How would this leave me feeling. (This can be exposing and make you feel vulnerable, but we're all Big now!)

I would feel Proud, I would feel Seen, I would feel Acknowledged, I would feel more Secure about my future.

So my payback is to do something to feel Proud, Seen, Acknowledged, and Secure. This is the sort of thing that really motivates. Its the feelings that underlie the goals that feed us with the energy and enthusiasm.

Those 450 people that have fallen by the wayside didnt have this clarity of what their goal was. They certainly didnt know how they would feel if they achieved it. Any of us can slip if we dont feed our ability to act with clear thoughts on our goals and how these goals would result in us feeling.

Thank you Simon for the seat on this Rocket. Thank you everyone for being part of this team.

5. My challenge that I put to all colleagues today is….

Very true Kari and I would think that most do not even want to be their but can admire and look and learn anyways. In the field of fashion, which I used as an analogy that just popped into my mind, the designers trigger a huge industry around them. Most of us are not even aware of how far it actually filters down. There is room for a lot of creativity but the group doing the creation is small and those around it are too which is the nature of the beast.
I think you could see that same story in many other fields. It just came out blatantly for some reason in my minds eye as I read this.
Some applaud and some do not even notice or care as life is so incredibly diverse.
