Subject: Hi {!name}, have you seen the video yet?

{!name},

If you haven’t seen the “what is web 2.0″ video  yet, not a problem. You can link to it at the bottom of this email.

I hope I am able to add some real value to your professional life.

I really want to reward everyone on my list for investing their time into hearing what I have to say. With so much information being slung at us all these days, it’s an honor whenever people choose to listen to me, so welcome aboard.

Now I am going to assume you are involved in event planning, promoting or organizing in some way. Even more pertinent is the fact you were probably searching Google for a solution to an event planning challenge to have found me.

Well you are in luck, I am a 3rd generation event planner who has lived and breathed events all of my adult life. I am currently involved in what I think is the greatest breakthrough in internet applications for event planners that this industry has ever seen.

Although I don’t think I am going to solve your most pressing problems in this email, I am excited about what I am introducing to you. It’s an event planers dream, a social networking  platform for event organizers that I believe is going to present opportunities you would never had thought possible just a few years ago.

I’m putting the finishing touches on some really cool video previews that will showcase some of the applications’ functionality.

I am going to send you the first in a series in a couple of days…

The application is a web 2.0 application that has been specifically designed for event organizers.  It doesn’t launch to the public yet, but I have been instructed to show you a preview now, then I am going to ask for your feedback.

Now the only other people to have seen these preview videos to date are a hand full of Web 2.0 social media experts and some big time event organizers. They didn’t even see them all because I haven’t finished them all yet !

The verdict is already in and the good news so far is, these big wigs are all predicting the site is going to become a pretty big deal over the next 6 to 12 months, in fact they all want to get involved.

Now, big business taking a positive view is great but my boss wants to know what the people on the ground think. He has asked me to work with my list specifically and asked me to ensure you all get a good introduction to the application.

He asked for this preview to be done with my list because he knows the quality of relationships I am able to build with all of my subscribers. He has told me to put together a preview without giving the game away. He has also asked me to get your input.  He wants your feedback, please.

Now, I’m going to send you a link to the first of the previews within a day or two and because I have not completed all the videos yet.  I am going to have to send you one at a time, as and when I finish the rest.

I’m sorry that I can’t give you access to the actual application but its still being tested.  We really wanted your feedback now so I have put some screen shots on a video for you.

Not to worry though, I have an announcement to make very soon that involves some of you gaining access to the site a month before the public launch, I’ll fill you in on that later.

But really, these videos are just the start of what we are planning to be an incredible journey for us all, we really hope so anyway.

I have lots of videos I am going to be sending you over the next couple of weeks. Videos that should prove the application will help you become a much more efficient and effective conference planner / organizer by using it, than what you are without it.

So keep your eyes peeled for my next email… and in the meantime, I have put together a short video for you.  This video is a nice introduction to web 2.0 outlining what the term web 2.0 actually means and why you absolutely need to be applying it to any serious business activities, especially social orientated businesses like event planning and management.

Best of Luck
Miss Abigale!

P.S. Look out for my email, it will arrive in the next few days.

P.S.S. My boss should have started his blog series by now. His first blog is all about Event Marketing web 2.0 and he really knows his stuff. He travels the world each year paying out tens of thousands of dollars a year or more like hundreds of thousands over the past few years to learn the latest techniques from the foremost experts in all aspects of internet marketing. He blogs about how it can all be applied to marketing your events online.
