Traffic Through Article Marketing Campaigns

Nowadays, successful online businesses are using article marketing as a way of generating traffic and building sales. It requires you to write original, concise and informative articles and submit them to specific websites or general article directories. People looking for the same content then republish your article on their content-sharing sites. Once this circulation begins, it gets people clicking their way to your websites.

The purpose of article marketing is to rank high in searches, dominate niches, generate revenue and of course, drive loads of traffic. For this purpose, we have created accounts at sites like HubPages, Squidoo, ever.com, gather.com etc. that allow members to create separate, individual pages on any topic.

Article marketing is a thread weaved into our overall marketing strategies. The main point that you need to keep in mind while article writing on such pages is targeting the right keywords. This is one practice that needs time and resources and it is recommended that you spend both on it because the results it can bring are astonishing. In order to get a double win, we have gone for the most-searched areas to get ourselves on top of search engine rankings. After listing all the keywords, we have made titles out of them…

Event Launch Strategies: Traffic through Article Marketing Campaigns

Article marketing that includes targeted keywords, your blog/website/video sublinks (that includes the same highly sought out keywords based on your targeted research) in the original article content you create through the likes of HubPages, Squidoo, Ezine Articles, Ever.com, Gather.com, in my estimation is the optimal method to have your content viral marketed to your researched target audiences.

Of course, you want to make sure that you update those articles periodically with relevant sublinks that ensures that your content is fresh. Although it takes more time and energy - it also ensures that you will be eventually considered an authority/maven in your market niche(s).

  • I absolutely get this one conceptually Simon, but have recently struggled with getting a few articles accepted by eZine.com. I notice you don't mention them here but know you do in your book Social Traffic. I've authored completely original content (and have published 4 books to date and have a new one coming out next month), but much in the same way that you do here, have broken one large article into 8 individual ones.

eZine keeps kicking them back saying I'm promoting my company, when I make no mention of my firm at all. So learning some of the individual editing rules of these article marketing sites will be a useful next step in my never ending social media education!

Have you had any challenges on that front?
  • Chicke, it leaves me wondering how they even know your company exists at all? It would seem to me that this type of unilateral decision by eZine could be successfully challenged.
  • I mentioned the Word of Mouth Media Relationship Ladder but no company name. I will remove WOMM and just have the relationship ladder (lower case) and see if it will go through!
  • Our articles will be knocked back if the article is promoting our product or service. If the articles are about problems our products / services solve that's OK. If our articles deliver solutions to problems that's OK too.

If the article is about our product or service directly it's an add. It's not considered an article. They won't approve it.

The resource box is where you can introduce your product or services with a link or two.
